Nothing Special

Some 25000 spectators have defied the hard rain and gathered at Poljud Stadium in order to watch the game between Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb. Again, the quality of soccer was less important than the contest between clubs' fan groups. Torcida has managed to interrupt the game twice with the heavy use of pyrotechnic devices. Some 49 men were arrested before, during and after the match. One car with Zagreb licence plates had its windows smashed.

The result itself was hardly in doubt. Despite dominating in the first half, Dinamo Zagreb simply couldn't win in Poljud Stadium. They conceded a goal in 87th minute. Home side's victory and weather are probably going to cool many heads and another Dugopolje incident seems unlikely.
