[ELECTION 2005] Street Talk

Just as he had promised, Boris Mikšić (Boris Miksic) began to take his case to the street. Tonight around 1500-2000 people gathered at Jelačić Square (Jelacic Square) in centre of Zagreb. After Mikšić left the gathering, around 300 diehards went towards HDZ headquarters and chanted anti-HDZ slogans while the HDZ Central Committee was in session.

In Osijek there weren't demonstrations but Mikšić supporters managed to organise signing of petition.

Around 300 people have demonstrated in Split. Local Mikšić organisation apologised to them for "lack of organisation".

200 people have also gathered in Karlovac.

Those numbers might not look impressive and they are far from standards set by Orange Revolution in Ukraine, but only days ago few people believed that anything could stir Croatians to express their political frustrations on the street.
